Recent Advances in Enzyme Inhibition Strategies for the Treatment and Management of Colorectal Cancer
Submission Abstract:
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide, with therapeutic resistance and metastatic progression remaining major challenges. Enzyme inhibition has emerged as a promising strategy for CRC prevention and treatment, targeting key molecular pathways involved in tumor growth, invasion, and chemoresistance. This thematic issue will highlight recent advances in the discovery, design, and application of enzyme inhibitors in CRC, including kinase inhibitors, histone deacetylase and other epigenetic modulators, matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors, and natural product-derived compounds. Topics of interest also include computational approaches for inhibitor discovery, enzyme-targeted drug delivery systems, and strategies to overcome therapeutic resistance. Contributions in the form of high-quality review articles, original research, and short communications are invited to provide a comprehensive insight into this rapidly evolving field.
