Energy Conversion at Nanomaterial Surfaces and Interfaces
Submission Abstract:
Surface and interface engineering of nanomaterials has emerged as a pivotal frontier in advancing energy conversion technologies. This Special Issue focuses on unraveling the dynamic interplay between nanomaterial surfaces/interfaces and energy transformation processes, with emphasis on gas/electrochemical sensors, photo-/electro-/thermo-catalysis, and surface-mediated heat conversion. Cutting-edge research addressing charge transfer dynamics, catalytic activity modulation, and thermal management at atomic and molecular scales is highly encouraged. Contributions may explore novel nanostructures (e.g., 2D materials, heterojunctions) that optimize energy exchange efficiency, enhance sensor sensitivity, or enable multifunctional catalytic platforms. Advanced in situ characterization, theoretical simulations, and scalable synthesis strategies for tailored surface functionalities are also of interest. We invite original research and reviews that bridge fundamental insights with practical applications, fostering sustainable solutions for energy harvesting, environmental monitoring, and industrial catalysis.
