Network Pharmacology in Multi-Target Neurotherapeutics: A Systems Approach to Brain Disorders
Submission Abstract:
Neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other neurodegenerative diseases are complex, multifactorial conditions involving intricate molecular networks that challenge traditional single-target therapeutic strategies. This thematic issue explores the paradigm of multi-target neurotherapeutics guided by network pharmacology, offering a holistic framework to decode disease complexity and identify synergistic therapeutic mechanisms. By integrating computational modeling, systems biology, and bioinformatics, network pharmacology enables the prediction and validation of multitarget interactions, unveiling novel pathways for effective neuroprotection and disease modification. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary approaches that merge network pharmacology with green chemistry, supporting the sustainable development of neuroactive agents. Contributions highlighting green synthesis, eco-friendly formulation design, bio-based solvents, and sustainable extraction of phytoconstituents are particularly encouraged. The issue aims to promote a convergence of systems pharmacology, cheminformatics, and nanotechnology to design eco-inspired and safe neurotherapeutic interventions. By fostering research across computational, experimental, and translational domains, this issue seeks to advance understanding of neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disorders through multi-target and environmentally responsible strategies. It welcomes original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that contribute to building a sustainable and systems-based foundation for next-generation neurotherapeutics.
