Recent Trends in Composite and Nanocomposite Materials: Characterization, Machining, and Applications
Submission Abstract:
The thematic issue, “Recent Trends in Composite and Nanocomposite Materials: Characterization, Machining, and Applications,” aims to highlight recent advances, emerging technologies, and novel research in the fast-evolving field of composite and nanocomposite materials. In multifunctional engineering applications, the difficulty lies primarily in the fabrication, processing, characterization, and performance testing of high-quality composite systems. Specifically, for polymer, metal, ceramic, and hybrid nanocomposites reinforced with nano-fillers, fibers, and smart materials to increase their mechanical, thermal, tribological, and structural properties.
In addition to highlighting different standards characterization approaches, this topical issue also covers the behavior and performance of materials under a variety of operating conditions, including microstructural, thermal, mechanical, and surface assessments. In addition, the issue highlights recent advances in traditional and non-traditional machining processes, surface integrity assessment, optimization approaches, artificial intelligence-based models, predictive simulations, and sustainable manufacturing. Authors are strongly urged to submit papers that address mathematical, experimental, and analytical studies, as well as their applications in industry. This issue is expected to serve as a comprehensive forum for researchers, academics, scientists, and industry experts to showcase breakthrough findings and to facilitate multidisciplinary advances in composite and nanocomposite technology.
