Hybrid Nano-Formulations for Spatiotemporal, Multi-Target Therapeutics: Innovations, Mechanisms, and Clinical Horizons.
Submission Abstract:
Hybrid nano-formulations represent a rapidly evolving frontier in drug delivery, enabling precise spatiotemporal control and multi-target therapeutic action. By integrating organic, inorganic, polymeric, lipid-based, and biomolecular components into a single platform, these systems overcome limitations of conventional therapies such as poor bioavailability, off-target toxicity, and limited therapeutic efficacy. This thematic issue focuses on recent innovations in hybrid nano-formulations designed for site-specific, stimuli-responsive, and time-controlled drug release across diverse disease conditions. It highlights underlying mechanisms of action, formulation strategies, targeting approaches, and advances in nanotheranostics. Emphasis is also placed on translational research, regulatory challenges, safety considerations, and emerging clinical applications. Collectively, this issue aims to bridge fundamental nanotechnology research with clinical horizons, fostering the development of next-generation, multi-target therapeutic systems.
