Physiological Mini Reviews

ISSN: 1669-5410

Aims and Scope:Physiological Mini Reviews is an open-access international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing concise, high-quality review articles that provide critical insights into fundamental and emerging areas of physiology. The journal aims to serve as a rapid and authoritative resource for researchers and clinicians by summarizing recent advances, integrating key concepts, and highlighting future research directions in physiological sciences.
The scope of the journal encompasses all aspects of physiology, including but not limited to:
  • Cellular and Molecular Physiology – Mechanisms of cellular function, ion channels, signaling pathways, gene regulation, and epigenetics in physiological processes.
  • Systems Physiology – Function and regulation of organ systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine, nervous, digestive, and musculoskeletal physiology.
  • Comparative and Evolutionary Physiology – Physiological adaptations across species and evolutionary perspectives on functional biology.
  • Pathophysiology – Cellular and systemic mechanisms underlying disease states, including metabolic syndromes, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular pathologies
  • Integrative and Computational Physiology – Modeling and systems biology approaches to understand physiological processes.
  • Exercise and Environmental Physiology – Responses of the human body to physical activity, extreme environments, and stressors.
  • Education and Teaching Physiology - Advancing physiological knowledge, enhancing learning methodologies, and fostering critical thinking for scientific inquiry and healthcare education.
  • Translational and Clinical Physiology – Physiological insights relevant to medical practice, drug development, and therapeutic innovations.
Each mini-review is expected to be concise (typically 3,000–5,000 words), presenting a focused analysis of recent advancements and accessible to a broad readership. The journal encourages contributions from established researchers as well as early-career scientists, fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and innovation in physiological research.

Physiological Mini Reviews is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published continuously by Bentham Science Publishers.
