Back to Nature-Nothing beats nature for finding drug leads

Natural products have long served as a rich source of bioactive compounds and remain central to drug discovery. Despite technological advancements such as high-throughput synthesis, combinatorial chemistry, and computer-aided drug design, natural products continue to inspire new drug development due to their structural diversity and wide range of biological activities, including anticancer, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, and neuroprotective properties. Their unique chemical frameworks often provide novel mechanisms of action that synthetic libraries cannot easily replicate. Over the... see more

Application of polymer materials in batteries

Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with high energy density, long cycle life and extremely low self-discharge characteristics, have set the industry benchmark in cutting-edge applications such as portable electronic devices and electric vehicles. Recently years, with increasing diversification of the electronic product market, a series of new secondary battery systems have been widely studied, including sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), potassium-ion batteries (PIBs), and aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs). These batteries show their unique advantages in many key performance indicators,... see more
