Pharmacological Advances in the Diagnosis, Prevention, and Treatment of Tuberculosis.
Submission Abstract:
Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global health challenge, exacerbated by the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains and co-infections with HIV. This thematic issue aims to highlight current advances and innovations in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of TB, with a special emphasis on translational and pharmacological research. Contributions will cover molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, host-directed therapies, novel anti-mycobacterial agents, vaccine development, and strategies to overcome drug resistance. By bringing together original research, reviews, and expert perspectives, this issue seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of TB control and inform future directions in both basic and clinical research. This compilation will be particularly valuable for researchers, clinicians, and public health experts involved in TB management and infectious disease pharmacotherapy.
